Wedding Day Music Ideas

Wedding Day Music Ideas

Throughout your wedding music will be playing.  From the wedding march to the dance floor it will set the tone of the moment as well as the mood.  With the right music, the wedding day will be memorable not only for the bride and groom, but everyone who attends.

As a rule there are people of varying ages attending a wedding.  This is important to remember as, just because you love rap, doesn't mean grandma will.  From the Tennessee Waltz to the latest hip hop, all who attend these events have their own preferences.  Selecting music that will be pleasurable to all groups is sometimes difficult, but usually it is safe to go from romantic ballads to the latest commercial tunes providing variety and flexibility.

The choice of whether one selects a band, group, DJ, or singer is very important.  They may also fill the role of master of ceremonies, if requested.  It is essential that any service providers are engaged and under contract early as to delay could cause complications in the end.  Frequently a deposit is required at the time of booking and allowances should be made for this expense.  Making sure there are the correct power sources as well as a performing location that is adequate is vital and this is often left to the couple to verify.  Having a frank discussion with the DJ, singer, or musicians prior to booking is essential so that they and you know what is expected.  If you want special music it may be necessary to pay extra, but this can be arranged prior to confirming their inclusion in the wedding.

Guests like to enter a room where nuptials are to be held where soft, romantic music is being played.  This is usually done prior to the wedding ceremony and up to the time the bride enters the room.  Instrumentals are very nice as are good background music from CD's.   Location may affect what is being played, as well, since outdoor venues will require different kinds of music than church weddings.  If the reception is being held in a church, as well, be sure an ask if there are any restrictions with regard to the music provided as this can affect the overall mood of the occasion.

At the reception, faster music is usually played when people are enticed to try out the dance floor.  At other times romantic ballads or soothing jazz adds a touch of romance and class.  Whatever music is chosen should reflect the desire to have all guests enjoy the moment.

If hiring a band or live entertainment for the wedding you will find it takes a large amount out of the budget.  Many people have turned to hiring a DJ who can provide an assortment of pre-recorded CD's.  There are advantages to this, one of which is being easier on the budget.  One has a greater selection to choose from, you do not have to worry about how the songs will be presented, and there is something to please everyone.  Wedding days should be perfect and with the right music you can rest assured it will be.
