Personalize Your Party (Birthdays)
In part one of this series of articles we started looking at how you can bring your parties to life, with really simple touches. Those simple things you can do that brings that unique and fun edge to your parties. Now we will start focusing more specifically on birthday parties. Those embarrassing reminders of the fact that you or your friends are getting older, and in many cases a fun chance to rub the fact in their faces.
Now whats a birthday party without some games? And not your generic games which you see at every birthday party. If your looking for a large array of options right off the bat you can go with various party games Or, you can mix gambling and drinking. But not in a conventional way, which everyone has seen before but a roulette drinking game. Or if your looking for something more simplistic (let's face it, drinking games are always better simple) You can stick to these card games instead.
So now you've got some games, which is a great start. But unless you make the party area visually interesting as well, your only halfway there. If you want to try something a little quirky, make everyone wear fake mustaches. At first the idea may seem a little odd, but the more you think about it the more amusing it becomes. Especially if its a family event, because how could seeing your family members run around the house with fake mustaches not be funny.
And of course you can swap out your common party essentials from boring mugs, coasters, and etc with more interesting variants. Like flashing beer mugs or martini glasses for example. And if you want to stay in the theme of LED's and lights you have options like LED chairs and LED tables. And sound sensitive LED party lights which can be twisted into a variety of patterns and flash brighter in response to the volume of the sound or music playing in the area. As well as a flashing Happy Birthday balloon, if used for example to frame a door way one of each side it could serve as an eye catching item to get your guests in that happy festive mood as their coming in the door.
And while were tossing aside the old standards, why make a simple birthday cake. When you can make several giant cup cakes instead. Say for example for a milestone, like someones 50th birthday. Rather then just having your typical cake. You make two giant cupcakes and put a giant number 5 sticking out of one and a 0 sticking out of the other. Its visually more interesting and is unique at the same time.
Or go the extra mile, and make a Cocktail Punch fountain into your centerpiece. And flank it on each side with the aforementioned cupcake. Still looking for more ideas? Check out the next article in this series where we explore more ideas.
