DIY Bloody Handprint Window Clings
Planning a Halloween party and need something extra gruesome to add to your decorations? These gloriously gory bloody handprint window clings are just what you need. They are super simple to make, and they look ‘bloody’ amazing. Here’s how you can create your own DIY bloody handprint window clings.
What you will need:
White school glue
Red food colouring
Plastic wrap
Paint brush
Latex gloves (optional)
Start by spreading out a sheet of plastic wrap on a flat surface, smoothing out any wrinkles. You may want to anchor the plastic wrap so it won’t move around while you are making your handprints.
Mix red food colouring into the white glue until you get the bloody colour you want. You can experiment with adding more red colouring, or you can add a few drops of blue as well for a purplish ‘dried blood’ colour.
Using a paint brush, paint your hand with the coloured glue. You can wear latex or rubber gloves if you don’t want to stain your hands, but it won’t have the authentic look a bare hand provides.
Press your hand down on the plastic wrap to make a handprint. Allow the glue to dry slightly, and paint on a second layer using the paint brush. The goal is to build up the handprint using layers of glue so that it is thick enough to peel off the plastic wrap once it’s dry.
You can also do these directly onto the window, and they should peel off once they are dry.
Stick them to windows, mirrors or any smooth, hard surface. They look super creepy, and can be stored between sheets of wax paper when they’re not being used.
