Jam Drops with giant chocolate chip biscuits
Got a kids party on? Or a school event dropped in your lap? Maybe a
fundraiser coming up? You could do all 3 of these with this recipe if
you so desired: it makes roughly 100 cookies for only $5!! Yes you heard
correctly! FIVE DOLLARS! And you can make any variation on top of the
base that you like. I chose to go for two classics: the raspberry jam
drops and giant choc chips, both crowd pleasers.
Not only are they cheap - coming to a whopping $4.67 at ALDI - they are
oh so easy to make. And if you're not in the mood to knock off 100 odd
cookies, the raw dough can be frozen as can the biscuits themselves. So
considering we're not going to break the bank or a sweat, lets get
started on this classic, yummy recipe that everybody loves.
INGREDIENTS:
500gm butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1395gm tin condensed milk
5 cups SR flour
Bag small choc chips
Raspberry Jam
METHOD:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar until creamy.
2. Add condensed milk & SR flour, mixing until you create a lovely,
smooth dough.
3. Split dough in half - in one add your choc chips, the other leave as
is for the moment.
4. Roll dough out, use a cookie cutter or a large glass to cut out circles.
5. Bake in 180 C oven for 15mins or until golden brown. Allow to cool.
6. On 2nd plain half cookies add dollop of jam in middle. Serve.
