Baby shower games to challenge your baby skills

Diaper Race

This is one of the best games as far as baby showers are concerned. The diaper race requires all the guests to be divided into two teams. Each team shall stand on either side of the table facing each other. After this has been done, both the teams must be given one unit of each of the following items:

  • A life size naked baby doll
  • A stack of newborn disposable diapers
  • A pack of wipes
  • A bottle of baby powder

For those of you who have not figured out what this game is going to be, each team must be made to stand next to each other in a line. Each member of the team must wipe, powder and then put the diaper on the baby, before handing over the doll to the next person to repeat the process. The team that completes the task first wins and gets to claim a prize.

Great baby shower games just for fun

Baby Shower Charades

This particular game can be played in two ways; it can either be played as traditional charades or as picture or sculpture charades. Before the baby shower games start, prepare a list of 50 or more words related to babies. You can write words such as bib, bottle, pacifier, father, drool, diapers and other such terms. Write the words on index cards and place the cards in one container. In order to play this game, the guests must be divided into teams of four, with each team selecting a person from among their team to either act out the word that he or she chooses from the index card container (in case traditional charades is being played), or to draw or sculpt the word to help the rest of the team guess that word. Before trying to make his or her team guess the word, that person must show the card and the word written on it to the rest of the teams. This game must be played against the clock, you can use a digital timer to time each team, and each team should get a minute to guess the word. The team that guesses the most words wins.

Guess the Thing in the Bag

This is quite a simple, yet a very fun and exciting game that can be played in a baby shower. To play this game, place things related to the baby such as a pacifier, baby bottle, rattle, baby toy and other such small baby things into paper bags. The aim of this particular game is to make the guests to guess what is inside the bag by feeling their way around inside the bag. Needless to say, each bag must have the same things in exactly the same amount. The guest who makes the most accurate guesses wins and gets a prize.

Empty Your Purse

This particular game is a lot of fun. Make a list of small things that can be carried inside a purse. When the game begins, read off each one of the items on the list one by one for the guests to find in their purses. You can include items such as the invitation to the baby shower, a baby’s picture, something that is at least 10 years old, nail clippers and so on and so forth. Assign each of the items points according their unusualness; as an example the invitation to the shower should be worth one point while a picture of a baby should be worth five points. The person with most amount of things inside her purse wins and gets the prize.

As far as the prizes themselves are concerned, they can be a box of homemade cookies, set of nice candles, favor box full of candy, lotion, bath salts and so on. Set the best prizes for the most challenging games.
