themes for cocktail parties is now " a little old-fashioned ". She says
in the events she now plans that she uses Styles.. or Trends...

" People in New York today are anxious for there events to be less expensive,
organic and generally green" She also says " Comfort also plays a big factor.
A lot of our big events have started to be " warmer/fuzzier" with comfort foods
and less " small bites ".

For some other event organisers and caterers fingerfood/Small bites are more
popular than ever as many of their regular customers prefer more of a casual
cocktail party instead of having to sit down and eat a meal in one spot at a
table.

" People stretch their eating out and will stay longer at an event that is
serving fingerfood" says Jason apfelbaum,who is president of the famous Chef and
company. He also says "  At cocktail dinner parties they also often dont eat desserts
as much as they used to.. Most of our customers now just ask for smaller portions "

The owner of the also famous Plan A in Los Angeles, says that for her buisness the main
buzzwords are " Fresh,Organic,SOfter and natural" Also unlike the all-white trends
of parties a few years ago now she hosts events that feature beige colours,linens and wood.
She says this is because of the popularity today of greener events, which is also reflected in
some of the smaller decorations that use such elements as succulent plants and stones. These
unique arrangements can then also be taken by the guests.

Travis Osinbuye in New york from - White light events says some of the most popular
accessories at the events he organises are Flashing drinkware,Floating Lanterns
and other various chinese lanterns.

Also making a big come back at events today are alcoholic jelly shots served in
various unique ways which seem to create a great talking point at these events.

But regardless on what your exact plans are, the pros all offer this same important advice..

" Dont sweat the small stuff " If the fingerfood doesnt match your drinks list of your
lighting doesnt match the dress of the night it doesnt really matter. Most importantly
people should feel warm and invited. Even if you have to order takeaway. Imperfection
is ok.....  Just make sure there is plenty of Vodka and wine....
