- How to prepare a vegetarian menu for a birthday party...

It’s either you are a vegetarian or you just want to put variety on your birthday party. But whatever the reason is, there are many menu options that you can try and serve to your guests, and believe me they would not notice that their food don’t actually have any meat in it. These menus include:

Portobello stuffed with Cheese and spinach

The main ingredients are ricotta, spinach, parmesan cheese which will be nestled into a roasted Portobello mushroom cups. Guests will enjoy this dish more if it is served with vegetable tossed salad, whole-wheat bread spaghetti tossed with marinara sauce.

Tofu Steaks Parmigiana

It should be noted that tofu is a good alternative for meat, especially for those who might be a little concerned about the amount of proteins they need to have each day. The tofu sliced in a steak like size should be breaded and then fried in a pan with just very small amount of oil. This will then be topped with part-skim mozzarella, fresh basil and and marinara sauce.

Bean Burgers with Spicy Guacamole

Specially prepared beans with cornmeal coating will achieve the much desired pleasant crunch while the addition of paprika, cumin, cilantro and guacamole smoked and stuffed in it will give South western flavour.

Bean Bolognese

Instead of the usual beef or pork for this pasta Bolognese, this vegetarian meal will use beans, which are rich in fibre. The absence of meat gives this meal an 80% lesser saturated fat, and only 1/3 of the fat. Bean Bolognese is best served along with peppery arugula salad and warm or with crusty Italian bread.

Asparagus and Vegetable Mini Frittatas

Eggs, cheese, broccoli and asparagus are the main ingredients of this dish. This is a good whole meal that can be enjoyed for lunch or snacks. Topping it up with some blue cheese will make this one extra special.

Chickpea and Pumpkin Casserole

Chickpeas, broccoli, tomatoes and pumpkin put together spiced up with paprika, onions and garlic makes a great heavy meal especially if this is served with rice.

Beetroot and Feta Summer salad

This is a mix of chickpeas, snow peas or green peas, beetroot, capsicum, pine nuts and feta cheese. Served cold is the best approach. This is a good appetizer or side dish when having one big or heavy meal.

The suggestions listed above can all be served as light snacks or as full meals for lunch and/or dinner. Note that they are not vegetables alone as there are some dishes which contain some good replacements for meat.

As for desert, smoothies, like berry, banana, chocolate, pineapple, mango or a mix of two, three or everything that were mentioned will be a great ender for a very good meal that was served. Ice cream, or fruit salad is also a great desert to be served in a vegetarian inspired menu party.

Some wine, beer and/or vodka would do the trick as well.

Remember, vegetarian menu is not only for those who oprefer not  eating meat… this kind of menu is also a good way to start a healthy living. Vegetables are of course great when served fresh, or cooked accordingly. The dishes suggested here are not only for adults to enjoy, kind and the teen will also love the tastiness of each dish, and this give them the joy of eating healthy food at your next party.
