How to make lemon and strawberry shortcake

Lemon and Strawberries Shortcake
What You Need
• 1 cup of fresh strawberries, sliced
• ½ cup of sugar
• 1 and 1/3 cups of all-purpose flour
• ¼ cup of melted butter
• 2/3 cup of buttermilk
• 1 egg
• 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of lemon peel, grated
• ¼ teaspoon of salt
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
For The Topping
• 2 cups of low fat whipping topping
• 1 ½ cups of fresh strawberries, sliced
• 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon of sugar
How to Prepare
• Heat your oven to around 176 degrees Celsius.
• Grease and flour a round baking pan of 9 inches.
• Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
• Take another bowl and mix the buttermilk, butter, lemon juice, lemon peel, egg and vanilla.
• Mix in the mixture containing the flour into the second mixture till the dry ingredients are just moistened. Now mix in the strawberries.
